Former Norwich City striker turned pundit Iwan Roberts says his former club should not underestimate the power of Pride Park when they face Derby County tomorrow.

Paul Warne's side have a 100 per cent home record to protect against the Canaries and are yet to concede a goal in three games there this season.

But they have been helped by the noise generated by the fans who have fed off the high-octane performances which earned victories over Middlesbrough, Bristol City and Cardiff.

Roberts says he experienced it first-hand during punditry duty for Derby's win over the Bluebirds a fortnight ago when Kenzo Goudmijn's goal secured a 1-0 victory.

And he says Norwich should be prepared to face a Warne team that is inspired by the atmosphere which has helped Derby stay unbeaten at home since Charlton last season.

“I was there a couple of weeks ago when Cardiff went there – they only won 1-0, but they were miles better than Cardiff," Roberts wrote in his Pink Un column. "In the press room before the game I was talking to someone from BBC Radio Derbyshire and he told me I’d be surprised.

“He said ‘this place is bouncing’. I haven’t been there for a couple of seasons, but it was full and they get behind their team. They see their players working their socks off for the manager and for them, and if you don’t match it you are in trouble.”
