'Do not eat' warning on popular Yorkshire product sold at Sainsbury's
An urgent recall has been issued for a popular Yorkshire brand due to an undeclared ingredient missing on its label.
Food company Hain Daniels Group has put a notice up to warn those with allergies to peanuts not to purchase or eat its Yorkshire Provender Jacket and Toast toppers because they may contain nuts. This recall is linked to the wider issue of peanut contamination of mustard.
The products affected are:
Yorkshire Provender Jacket & Toast Topper Lentil Chilli 300g used by October 16 2024
Yorkshire Provender Jacket & Toast Topper Haricot Beans 300g used by October 16 2024

Customers with allergies have been advised to not eat the products and to return them to the Sainsbury’s store from where they were bought for a full refund or contact Hain Daniels’ customer service team at consumercare@haindaniels.com / 0800 0014409.
On the recall notice, Hain Daniels said: "We've been made aware that one of the ingredients used in our Yorkshire Provender Jacket & Toast Topper Haricot Beans and Yorkshire Provender Jacket & Toast Topper Lentil Chilli may be contaminated with peanut residue, which is not declared on pack.
"As a precautionary measure, we are voluntarily recalling the affected products. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation."
A The Food Standards Agency (FSA) spokesperson said: "Hain Daniels is recalling the above products from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.
"The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers. This notice explains to customers why the products are being recalled and tells them what to do if they have bought the products."
