In 2019, the author behind the ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, was seemingly cancelled after a transphobic twitter controversy in which she spoke out at the silencing of female academics in the trans debate. Rowling wrote: "Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who'll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?" Then in December 2021, Rowling landed herself in hot water again with new transgender comments.
