Nottingham Forest boss Nuno springs a surprise as he names team to face Fulham
Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Fulham in this afternoon’s Premier League clash.
The Reds go into today’s game looking to extend their unbeaten start to the league campaign. A 2-2 draw at Brighton and Hove Albion last time out made it five league matches without defeat for Nuno’s men.
They had to show their character on the south coast, though. After taking the lead through a Chris Wood penalty, Forest then had to come from behind and also had to see out the final minutes with 10 men when Morgan Gibbs-White was sent off.
With the England international therefore suspended against the Cottagers, Nuno faced a big dilemma over who should replace him. In the end, the Reds boss has made three changes to his XI with Ryan Yates, Nicolas Dominguez and Taiwo Awoniyi coming into the line-up in place of Gibbs-White, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga.
Ola Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Alex Moreno will once again make up the back line ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels. In what could be a 4-3-1-2 formation, Yates, James Ward-Prowse and Dominguez are likely to make up the midfield three.
Elliot Anderson will likely play just behind front men Awoniyi and Chris Wood. The bench will be made up of Carlos Miguel, Morato, Neco Williams, Hudson-Odoi, Harry Toffolo, Jota Silva, Elanga, Ramon Sosa and Willy Boly.
Nuno himself was shown a red card last weekend. He may yet receive a touchline ban but is able to take his place on the touchline this afternoon.
Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Anderson, Yates, Ward-Prowse, Dominguez; Wood, Awoniyi. Subs: Miguel, Morato, Williams, Hudson-Odoi, Toffolo, Jota, Elanga, Sosa, Boly.
