Head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Liverpool in this afternoon’s Premier League clash.

The Reds return to action after the international break looking to maintain their positive start to the season. They are unbeaten with three league games gone, having picked up five points courtesy of one win and two draws.

Today’s fixture at Anfield is their toughest test so far, however. The hosts have a 100 percent record under new manager Arne Slot.

Forest had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers last time out as they let slip a goal handed to them by Chris Wood. Deadline day signings James Ward-Prowse and Morato were not available for that match having put pen to paper the day before.

The duo are involved on Merseyside, however. Ward-Prowse is handed his debut as one of four changes to the starting XI, with Alex Moreno, Nicolas Dominguez and Ryan Yates also coming into the line-up.

Nuno has stuck with a back four against Liverpool. Moreno will come in at left-back with Ola Aina switching to the right. Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo retain their places at centre-back ahead of goalkeeper Matz Sels.

Ward-Prowse looks set to line up alongside Ryan Yates in central midfield, although it could be Nuno opts for a three in the centre of the pitch. If he sticks with a 4-2-3-1 formation, it seems likely Elliot Anderson and Nicolas Dominguez will be tasked with providing the width either side of Morgan Gibbs-White. Chris Wood starts up front.

The bench will be made up of Carlos Miguel, Morato, Neco Williams, Taiwo Awoniyi, Andrew Omobamidele, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Harry Toffolo, Jota Silva and Anthony Elanga. Willy Boly and Ibrahim Sangare are not involved having been doubts prior to the game due to picking up injuries while on international duty.

Forest: Sels; Aina, Milenkovic, Murillo, Moreno; Yates, Ward-Prowse; Anderson, Gibbs-White, Dominguez; Wood. Subs: Miguel, Morato, Williams, Awoniyi, Omobamidele, Hudson-Odoi, Toffolo, Jota, Elanga.
