Nottingham Forest are reportedly chasing two Turkish international attackers, joining a host of Premier League sides in the race for their signatures.

According to CaughtOffside, Forest are keen on both Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz and Besiktas teenager Semih Kilicsoy. Both valued in the region of €25-30m (£21-25m), they would be significant deals if Forest were to make a move for them in January.

Right-sided winger Yilmaz, 24, has long been discussed as one of Turkey’s brightest talents, and he’s had a quick start to this season, scoring four goals in Galatasaray’s first six Super Lig games. A Forest scout was said to be in attendance for the derby against Fenerbahce on Saturday, but Tottenham and Brighton are also hovering.

Kilicsoy, only just turned 19, is a much newer talent, albeit the fast start to his career saw him included in Turkey’s Euro 2024 squad. The teenager, who plays up front or off the left wing, scored 12 goals in all competitions last season and has a couple of assists to his name this term. Aston Villa and Fulham are said to be keen too, while there’s reported interest in him from across Europe.

Out wide, Forest are certainly well-set. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo has Callum Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga, Ramon Sosa, and Jota Silva to call on, while Morgan Gibbs-White can also operate wide.

Up front, the pursuit of a striker may resume once January comes around. Forest chased Eddie Nketiah and Santiago Gimenez during the summer, but didn’t sign either, leaving them with Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi as their main two striking options.
