Nottingham Forest transfer 'off' as player rejects deal
Santiago Gimenez has informed Nottingham Forest about his decision to reject their transfer proposal, according to reports.
A deal is now ‘off’ according to journalist Fabrizio Romano despite the Reds pursuing the Feyenoord striker for much of the summer. Forest had previous bids rejected but returned with an offer - thought to be worth £29m - earlier this week, as reported by Nottinghamshire Live.
However, The Telegraph reported that the striker rejected the approach in favour of staying at the Rotterdam-based club, for this season at least.

On Wednesday, The Telegraph also reported that talks had begun between Forest and Eintracht Frankfurt regarding the signing of Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush. In the same piece, it was suggested that forward Emmanuel Dennis could depart the club, freeing up more space for a new arrival in the central striker position alongside Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi.
Nuno Espirito Santo made his thoughts on transfers clear last week. He said: “So many things are going on. These last days of the window are normally when clubs try to fix the final details, so anything can happen. Us as a club, we have to be ready to react for any situation.”
