Nottingham woman 'reduced to tears' after opening hotel curtains during Canada holiday
A woman from Nottingham was left in tears after waking up in her hotel room and looking behind her curtain.
Lyndsay Johnson experienced an unexpected surprise during her recent holiday to the US and Canada. After planning a night's stay at Niagara Falls, she was taken aback by the breath-taking view her hotel room offered of the famous attraction - something she only discovered the morning after checking in.
She took to TikTok to showcase what appeared to be a regular hotel room in a video that quickly garnered more than 600,000 views. However, as she switched off the light, the night time splendour of Niagara Falls - glowing in the night - unfolded before her through the window.

The awe-inspiring accommodation came at a remarkably modest price of just £220, a fact that has left many viewers astonished. Lyndsay said: "When I arrived at the hotel it was evening and dark outside, and the curtains in my room were closed."
"I stood in front of them and wished out loud that the view would be good, but nothing could have prepared me for how spectacular it was when I eventually opened the curtains. The horseshoe falls were right outside my window; it was magical and everything I hoped for I burst into tears!"
Lyndsay was ecstatic about snagging such an amazing view at a bargain during her travels, leaving her social media followers equally wowed. Commenting under her video, one viewer remarked: "I would not be sleeping, you'd just see me at the window."
Another commented in surprise: "I was expecting a fail! The way my jaw dropped." "Might be the best view I've ever seen from a hotel," a third person said.
Following her unforgettable stay at Niagara Falls, Lyndsay took off to Toronto to round off her vacation. She ventured on the transatlantic trip solo, embracing the solitude of solo travel which she often prefers. Documenting her escapades online, Lyndsay aims to encourage others to dive into travelling alone.
She said: "When people hear I'm on holiday or travelling by myself, they usually tell me I'm brave and then after a pause they tell me they wish they could do it. I want to use my platform to empower others and help them to take that trip. TikTok has been a fun way to document my travels but also to encourage others."
