Nottinghamshire concert played by Sting, Gary Barlow and Nile Rodgers scrapped
A concert held in Sherwood Forest that has hosted the likes of Sting, Nile Rodgers and Gary Barlow has been scrapped due to rising costs. Forest Live, organised by Forestry England, has decided to drop Sherwood Pines in Nottinghamshire as one of its venues for 2025.
The event, which takes place across several forest locations in the country, said it made the "difficult decision" to focus on its larger capacity sites. It said this was "due to the rising costs of infrastructure and operational elements that have risen sharply and affected festivals and events in the UK over the past year".
In an update issued on Friday, September 20, Forestry England added: "This means that we will not be holding concerts at Dalby Forest or Sherwood Pines next year. We hope everyone who joined us at a concert in 2024 had an incredible time and we’d like to say a huge thank you for supporting the nation’s forests."
Sting, Nile Rodgers and Anne-Marie were among the acts to perform at Sherwood Pines earlier this year. The venue has also played host to Gary Barlow, Olly Murs, Blondie and Paul Weller over the years.
Forest Live will continue to take place at Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire, Delamere Forest in Cheshire, High Lodge - Thetford Forest in Suffolk and Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire.
