You Can Now Buy A Rose Wine That Tastes Like Fruit Salad Sweets From Aldi
Right now, it’s all about finding the little things in life that bring you joy. Whether that’s baking, batch cooking, cracking out a brand-new jigsaw, or treating yourself to a little booze now and then (you still need to drink responsibly, even though you’re drinking at home, mind you).
If you’re looking for a new tipple to enjoy while you look out the window; dog-spotting, we have just the thing for you. Aldi has launched a new rose wine that tastes just like fruit salad sweets. Can you think of a better combination than wine and penny sweets?
Hallelujah.
Aldi’s Pedro Luis Monastrell Rosé, which costs just £5.99 a bottle, boasts flavours of cherry, raspberry and pineapple, and is sure to stir up fond memories of the iconic fruit salad chews.
Here’s hoping Aldi doesn’t have any plans to make a robust red wine that tastes like Black Jacks. Bleurgh.
Aldi’s Mistress of Wine (I mean… have you ever heard of a better job title?), Sam Caporn has a few suggestions of what dishes to pair the wine with. Dependent if you can get ingredients to make them, obvs.
“For those among us who love a sweeter rosé, this pretty pink tipple will hit the spot perfectly. Very aromatic with notes of fresh red fruit, such as cherry and a hint of confectionery, there’s no doubt it’s reminiscent of sweeter, younger days. Characterful and fun, it’s delicious on its own or paired with a light prawn or seafood pasta or stay authentic with a seafood paella.”
