'Now Is Not the Time': Park Officials Ward Off Visitors as Wildfire Burns in Alberta

Canadian park officials warned tourists to reschedule any planned visits to Jasper National Park while efforts to contain a large wildfire in the area continued on Wednesday, September 7.

On Monday, power outages were reported in the City of Jasper due to the fire, while park officials closed several campgrounds to focus on “restoring all essential services” to the community.
