Nuneaton crematorium issues statement over concern for much-loved feature
Bosses at Nuneaton's crematorium have issued a statement over the future of a much-loved feature amid concerns it is being removed. Towards the main entrance of the Heart of England Crematorium is a specially paved tranquil area.
Within this landscaped area is a large pond. It plays home to a number of fish and has become a place where people visit for reflection over the loss of a loved one.
However, over the past week, it has been noticed that works are taking place at the pond and the fish have been taken away. This has led to concerns that the area is being removed for good.

However, the crematorium has sought to allay fears and explained that works are taking place- but the pond is not being removed. In a statement, Dawn Alexander, business leader at Heart of England Crematorium, said: "At Heart of England Crematorium, we strive to provide a welcoming and tranquil environment where mourners can reflect and remember the lives of their loved ones.
"We recognise that our pond is vital component of this setting, and we have no plans to remove it. The current filter system for the pond is being replaced with a smaller alternative that will be more discreet.
"The fish are being cared for by our colleagues until work has been completed and they will then be carefully returned to the pond."
