Nurse sues trampoline park after shattering her spine jumping into a foam pit from a four metre tower

A nurse plans to sue a trampoline park after she jumped four metres into a foam pit and fractured her spine.

Liza Jones, who also burst a vertebrae, is taking legal action against Flip Out in Chester after two other people reported "incidents" on the same day.

The 26-year-old was treated in the foam pit, and after a CT scan in hospital, says she was told she had fragments of bone sticking out that could have paralysed her.

The cardiac nurse says she underwent surgery to have metal plates and screws inserted in her back.

"It was really scary, it was the most pain I've ever suffered in my life," said the 26-year-old, from Wrexham in north Wales.

"I was very scared of the operation and of my future. I could tell my boyfriend Luke was scared as well, he didn't know if I was going to end up in a wheelchair."

"I can't lean forwards or bend to pick things up."

Flip Out has since voluntarily closed the 'tower jump', which she jumped from, and confirmed three incidents in total happened on Wednesday, Feb 1.

George Magraw, 21, also says he suffered a fractured spine from using the 'tower jump'.

Cheshire West and Chester Council are investigating the park.

Michael Hardacre, a public liability lawyer from Slater and Gordon, who is representing Liza, said: "Reports of accidents at Flip Out are extremely worrying and we will be thoroughly investigating."

Flip Out published a safety video on YouTube after the three incidents and a spokesman said: "We have replaced the tower jump with a new 'battle beam' attraction."
