Yahoo News The OA season 2 starts filming next month
Brit Marling has confirmed that season two of The OA will begin shooting next month.
The Netflix drama debuted in December last year and quickly captured the imaginations of viewers (and even Blake Lively) for its unique and truly original storytelling.
Despite high demand for a second Movements-filled season, it seems we'll have to wait a little while longer before we get to see season two.
The OA's co-creator and star Brit Marling confirmed on Twitter on Sunday (December 17) that filming will begin in January 2018 after a long writing schedule that took several months.

The news that filming for season two is only beginning in January may come as a disappointment to some fans of The OA, who may have been expecting a quicker turnaround.
However, we at Digital Spy take comfort in the knowledge that it won't follow the fatal example set by some of our previous other favourite TV shows by rushing out seasons too fast (cough, cough, cough, The Walking Dead).
Indeed, as Game of Thrones also announces an extended hiatus before its eighth and final season, we're left confident that The OA team's lengthy writing session will result in a second season just as compelling as the first.
And *spoilers below* the first was pretty compelling.

The OA follows blind girl Prairie Johnson who goes missing and returns home several years later with her sight fully restored.
It stars Brit Marling, Jason Isaacs, Phyllis Smith, Patrick Gibson and Riz Ahmed.
Season one left us at a cliffhanger, with Prarie's fate hanging in the balance after she was shot in the chest – although this wouldn't be her near death experience, so we suspect she'll be totally fine.
It also showed Riz Ahmed's FBI agent acting pretty sneaky after all, so we hope Ahmed's huge success elsewhere won't stop him from coming back next season.
The OA season one is available to stream on Netflix.
