An African elephant named Osh celebrated his 27th birthday at a zoo in Oakland, California, on May 25 by feasting on a cardboard sign made in the spirit of the big day.
Video shared by Oakland Zoo shows the nearly 11-feet-tall Osh scooping up a number “two” to eat.
“Elephants eat several hundreds of pounds of food a day, including branches much tougher than this cardboard,” the zoo wrote in a tweet. “The paint is nontoxic and safe to digest.”
Osh is still growing at 13,000 pounds and will eventually reach approximately twice the size of his female counterparts, according to the zoo. Credit: Oakland Zoo via Storyful
