Oasis fans have blasted Liam Gallagher's performance at Wembley Stadium before last night's boxing match between Anthony Joshua v Daniel Dubois. The Mancunian superstar, 52, gave fans a taste of what's to come for next year's sold-out reunion tour - tipped to be the biggest music event of 2025 - as he sang 'Rock n' Roll Star', 'Supersonic', and 'Cigarettes and Alcohol' ahead of the box office fight on Saturday night (September 21). But for many, Liam's vocals went down like a lead balloon.

"People gonna want Oasis refunds after this Liam Gallagher disasterclass," wrote one user on X, adding: "Me nan would do a better job." Another user posted: "Anyone want £415 Oasis tickets... having just witnessed two minutes of Liam Gallagher before the boxing, I think I'm better on karaoke."

One X user said: "My condolences for anyone who paid a fortune to go and see Oasis next year - Liam Gallagher on the boxing ‘singing’ Rock n Roll Star and Supersonic is absolutely tragic. Embarrassing." Another added: "Liam Gallagher sounded terrible there, whoever missed out on tickets you'll be glad."

A further comment stated: "Just caught a glimpse of Liam Gallagher at the Joshua V Dubois fight - dear god, his vocal range is about a quarter of an octave, and if you paid good money for Oasis tickets, I present Mr Lydon [Jonny Rotten].' But some fans took to X to praise the Oasis frontman's mini-set.

One fan posted: "You were better than the main event…think you were on longer too!" Another X user posted, "Liam Gallagher, highlight of my night," while another said: "Liam Gallagher sounding exactly how he has done for years tonight, for those of you who’ve only heard Wonderwall from 30 YEARS AGO."

Still others attributed the barbed comments to bitterness after many fans had difficulties getting tickets. "Great to see the 'I never got an Oasis ticket brigade' out tonight, slating Liam Gallagher, seem to forget Liam has sounded like this for the last six years and sold out stadium tours and Knebworth pretty fine.. roll on."

Another wrote: "Liam Gallagher sounded terrible. But let’s be honest you ain’t 'Glad you didn’t get tickets', you mean you queued up for hours and didn’t get them and secretly upset, now tryna spin it for those that did to make yourself feel a bit better."

Last night's boxing match at Wembley saw Anthony Joshua decisively beaten within five rounds by IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois. During the match, Joshua hit the floor four times as Dubois' laid into him, ending up with a count out after another offensive from Dubois.

Ticket prices for Oasis' highly anticipated reunion tour have soared on sites such as Ticketmaster from £148 to a whopping £355, sending fans into an uproar, prompting even government and competition watchdogs to consider an investigation of the use of dynamic pricing, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Meanwhile, numerous fans voiced their frustration and disappointment after spending hours in online queues only to miss out on securing tickets. In a statement released earlier this month, the band stated that the new method of private ballot ticket sales would ease the stress and time spent by fans trying to secure tickets. In response to these incidents, consumer advocates Which? called on Ticketmaster to compensate fans who were affected by the steep ticket prices.
