Oasis ticket chaos as pre-sale frenzy 'shuts down' ticket sites

Oasis fans have been left fuming after the pre-sale ticket sale caused chaos. Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher this week announced they would be reuniting to go on tour in 2025.

The brothers will perform across the UK and Ireland - at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, Manchester's Heaton Park, London's Wembley Stadium, Murrayfield in Edinburgh and Dublin's Croke Park. General ticket sales will start from 8am for UK shows on Saturday, August 31.

Tickets for Ireland shows will start at 9am. But today (Friday, August 30), some lucky fans who were successful in a pre-sale ballot were given the chance to get tickets early.

Thousands of Oasis fans took to social media to complain that they did not receive confirmation email of their ballot entry. Fans wanting to access the ballot had to answer quiz questions on how many times they had seen Oasis and who the original drummer of the band was.

As the pre-sale tickets went on sale tonight, fans rushed to try to get their hands on tickets, Mirror reports. But many encountered issues as Ticketmaster appeared to 'shut down'.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one said: "OMG the site is shutting down and not working for me. HELP." Another said: "WHAT IS GOING ON!!! I'm next in line but the is frozen and I can't refresh."

A third said: "This is a complete s***show as suspected." Another said: "All of that stress for nothing. I had four screens and still didn't manage to get a ticket because of the s***show."

In a statement on Thursday, the band said: "Due to a last-minute surge in pre-sale ballot entries, a number of confirmation emails are still being processed and sent out. The deadline to confirm your entry has now been extended to 10am BST tomorrow morning (Friday, August 30).

"If successful in the ballot, you will be contacted tomorrow by 5pm BST with pre-sale access information. Thank you for your patience."
