The OC star Rachel Bilson is 'always open' for a reunion

The OC star Rachel Bilson has reignited hopes for a show reunion by saying she is open to the idea.

At a time when early noughties revivals are in fashion, bringing back a show which gained an impressive fan based like The OC doesn't seem improbable.

In an interview with Entertainment News, Bilson said she would consider reprising her role as the charming Summer Roberts, if her co-stars were on board.

"I'm always open to things," she said.

"I don't know what it would look like with our characters being old now. We were riding skateboards on the pier - I don't know what they do now as 30-year-olds," she added.

"But it would be nice to see everybody again."

The show came to a somewhat abrupt ending in 2007, after just four seasons, and left a diehard legion of fans wanting to know more about the lives of the rich kids of Orange County.

"People always ask me that and I'm like: 'What was she doing when we ended?'," Bilson asked.

"I can't even remember; it was so long ago. I'm sure she has kids with Seth. I don't know! She's on the beach."

The 35-year-old actress was a teenage heartthrob a decade ago, and is now starring in a southern series titled Heart Of Dixie, but says The OC still has a place in her heart.

"It's really nice that people loved the show so much and embraced it," she said.

"I'm still so grateful to this day for the opportunity and to have been a part of something like that."

As for the rest of the cast, they went separate ways, and Bilson isn't sure they will manage to reunite.

"I haven't seen any of them in a very long time," she said.

"I always see Josh Schwartz. Josh is like my brother; he's married to my best friend actually. I hear things through people and I know people are doing well," she added.

"Everyone's growing up."
