Ocean Viking Migrant Rescue Ship Spends Thirteenth Day Awaiting Access to Port

The logistician on the Norwegian-flagged Ocean Viking migrant rescue ship said on August 22 that five days of standard food rationing were left.

Quoting Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), who are running the rescue mission, Reuters reported that the 356 migrants on board included more than 100 minors, around 90 of them unaccompanied.

MSF said the vessel was denied entry to Maltese ports, and that its calls to Italy had gone unanswered. Credit: Médecins Sans Frontières via Storyful
