There's long been calls from both cast members and fans for The Office US to be revived, but there's one star who doesn't think a new series is the way to go.

Melora Hardin, who played Jan Levinson, has told The Bold Type After Show that she would rather see the cast reunite for a movie.

"I don't think that it should because I just don't see how it would be really that exciting." Melora said.

"They're not going to get Steve (Carell), they're not going to get Ricky Gervais, they're not going to get John (Krasinski), they're not going to get Ed (Helms), everyone's off doing different things.

"I think they should make a movie, The Office – The Movie and then they could do sequels and I think they'd get everyone for that.

"I think a movie is way more interesting than doing the show again," Melora continued. "The show's amazing, the only thing to do is to do movies of The Office. We could do as many sequels as we want."

Back in January, star and showrunner Paul Lieberstein (Toby Flenderson) admitted that he thought the show should come back for a one-off special.

"I think a one-off special would be the way to go," he said. "Some event that brings everyone back together."

Steve Carell has also previously spoken about the idea of the show making a comeback, saying that he thinks a reboot wouldn't be able to "recapture that same magic".
