Officers were filmed and abused as they underwent a stop and search in Reading.

On Saturday, March 25, Thames Valley Police officers attempted to stop and search a man - who refused to allow the search.

Three officers at the scene assisting the search reported around 30 members of the public watching the incident take place.

An officer said that the public "filmed", "abused" and "berated" them for searching the individual.

The man, who was eventually searched, was found with a knuckle duster which was seized and the man was arrested.

A Thames Valley Police officer said: "Please remember that you will not always be aware of the reasons why we are doing something but we wish to try and reassure you that we are doing this for the safety of the public.

"Please also know that we will not normally stop you filming us as we work transparently and record everything ourselves too - however please do not try and get in the way of Officers as you are putting yourself and us at risk."
