'Officers running about': Police presence in city centre after man 'attacked'
An emergency response was called to a busy area of Glasgow city centre after a man was 'attacked' in broad daylight.
The alarm was raised on Sunday afternoon that a man had been assaulted and a police presence was seen on Argyle Street and near the St Enoch Square Christmas markets.
An eyewitness told the Glasgow Times that multiple officers were running around the area.
Cops confirmed that they had been called to a report of a serious assault at the nearby Buchanan Street at around 2.30pm.
A man was hospitalised for his injuries.
Officers investigating the alleged incident have sine arrested a man in connection.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 2.30pm on Sunday December 4, 2022, police received a report a man had been seriously assaulted in Buchanan Street, Glasgow.
"Emergency services attended and the man has been taken to hospital.
"Following inquiries, officers arrested a man in connection with the incident."
