Ohio Dad's DIY Wonka Mobile Makes for 'Magical' Halloween
A dad in Powell, Ohio, made his kids’ dreams come true this Halloween when he built a Wonka Mobile from scratch to complement their Oompa Loompa costumes.
Edgar Escobar, who regularly showcases his DIY projects on his YouTube channel, used a bicycle as the base to build his Wonka-worthy contraption, which references the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
“We are very whimsical at home specially when it comes to ideas that our kids have,” Escobar told Storyful. “This year they both wanted to be Oompa Loompas for Halloween and as they watched their favorite movie over and over the idea hit me. I would surprise them with a Wonka Mobile of their own.”
Escobar said that his kids had input into the creation, and were fully invested in the end result: “They were both incredibly happy and excited to try their new Wonka Mobile for a magical Halloween.”
To finish off the design, Escobar added some stickers of his family as Oompa Loompas, and himself as Willy Wonka.
Although this Halloween is not yet over, Escobar said his kids already have plans for next year’s big costume idea. Credit: @super_simple_diy via Storyful
