An Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) trooper caught a distracted driver veering off the road and hitting a utility pole on February 4.
According to officials, the trooper attempted to stop the driver for a marked lanes violation as they were traveling northbound on State Route 315 in Delaware County.
Dashcam footage shows the vehicle smashing into a pole.
OSHP said the driver was found to be “distracted driving,” and that she told officers she was trying to use the GPS on her mobile phone.
Officers told Storyful the roadway was closed for approximately five hours for the necessary repairs to be made to the power lines. Credit: OSHP Central Ohio via Storyful
