Ohio State University students gathered at their student union on April 21 to demonstrate against the police killing of a 16-year-old girl in Columbus the previous day.
Ma’Khia Bryant was shot by Columbus police officer Nicholas Reardon, police confirmed on Wednesday.
Police said the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) would independently investigate the shooting. Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther said “BCI will determine whether the officer involved was wrong and if he was we will hold him accountable as we have other officers.”
