A female cyclist has suffered serious injuries after being hit by a bus at a busy junction in south-east London.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on the Old Kent Road in Peckham at about 2.15pm on Saturday.

London's air ambulance was also scrambled after the crash, which happened at the junction with Asylum Road.

The woman, believed to be in her 30s, was taken to hospital.

She has suffered life-changing injuries, police said.

The Old Kent Road was closed between Asylum Road and Ilderton Road for about four hours while an investigation was carried out. It has since re-opened.

A Met Police spokesman said: “Next of kin have not yet been informed.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.”
