Olly Murs denies he'll take part in Strictly this year

Olly Murs has taken to social media to quash rumours that he'll be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing later this year... but the typically cheeky way he's done it hasn't convinced many fans.

"Not doing a certain dancing show this year!!! Strictly not true," he insisted punnily on social media, responding to rumours that he would be taking part.

He followed it up with an interesting choice of emoji, though – a winking, sticking out tongue face. And what is 2017 if not the year to read into emoji use?

That winky face has thrown us all, and fans are hoping that he's not being too serious about not appearing on the show – and we're hoping right along with them.

Regardless of whether he'll be donning the lycra and sequins and gyrating his way onto our screens this autumn, Olly will be kept busy this year as he embarks on a summer 2017 tour that runs from the beginning of June to the end of August and covers pretty much the whole country.

On top of his spring arena tour taking place currently, Olly will also be playing some more unusual venues (think more Edinburgh castle than the O2 Arena) during his summer tour dates.

Although, all those concerts would leave him in pretty good shape to take on the Strictly dance floor in the hope of winning the Glitterball Trophy, wouldn't you say?
