Olly Murs has warned that if he hurts his knee once more, it could spell the end for his music career.

The Voice UK star had to have a knee operation in summer 2019, but was later back in hospital over fears it had become infected.

Moves singer Murs says he is taking his recovery seriously as he knows that another accident could leave him unable to perform again.

He told The Sun that his knee’s arthritis and reconstruction was “never going to be perfect”, and that he had to be careful to protect it.

Murs admitted: “If I did my knee again it could be curtains. I won’t be able to dance and perform on stage.

“My bread and butter is my music, performing and touring. Being able to dance and perform on stage is what I do, it’s what I get paid to do, it’s what I love to do.

“If that was taken away from me because I went out and played football and twisted my knee again...”

Although Murs is only 36, he already knows that he could well be in line for a knee replacement and so has to make an extra special effort to keep himself fit and healthy.

He admitted that the problem was “always going to be in the back of my mind” and worried that if he had any further injuries, he “might not be able to come back and do my singing”.

Recently, Murs accepted that he had been “very annoying” to live with during lockdown after posting a series of controversial Tik Tok videos of his pranks on girlfriend Amelia Tank.

He told The Sun On Sunday: "It was a lot of fun coming up with pranks and fun stuff with my girlfriend, so I’m glad people enjoyed them.

“I’ve learned I’m very annoying to live with this year, especially feeling semi-retired over lockdown.

“I was definitely bored and pestering Amelia to do TikTok videos with me when she has a full-time job. There should be an award for her to be honest.”
