Olly Murs has opened up further about an operation he underwent last year on his knee, when doctors feared an infection he had could have been sepsis.
The singer and Voice UK coach has now gone into more detail about the ordeal, stating that he was told by doctors that they had "hours" to save his leg before the infection spread and he could have been in real trouble.
"That was quite worrying to hear," Olly recalled in an interview with The Sun. "He said, 'It's either we take a chance, we do what we need to do and then you'll be fine or you'll have a knee replacement'.
"Imagine me on stage, trying to dance with a knee replacement. It was never going to happen. That's my act, that's me. I love singing, I love dancing and performing for people and that was the most important thing.
"So I was lucky that, fingers crossed, everything is actually fantastic. I'm very lucky."
The star also talked about how his girlfriend Amelia Tank has helped him shed two stone, thanks to her making him lots of smoothies and properly cooked, low-carb meals.
"She made me a chicken korma but with no rice," he explained. "It was the most weird thing – it was just sauce and chicken on a plate.
"I was like, 'Where's the rice?' She's just been trying to keep me healthy. Obviously I've had my bad moments, eat sugar, eat my biscuits, eat my McDonald's and all that sort of stuff."
And now we want a curry. Thanks Olly.
