All eyes are on Paris as the 2024 Olympics Games are fully underway — but as the global sporting elite battle it out for medals to bring home, who is shining in the stands?
The Games attract the world’s great and good every four years, but it’s landing in the birthplace of couture calls for the chicest in recent memory (starting with the medal trays, courtesy of Louis Vuitton). And the A-list have turned out.
At the Opening Ceremony, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend — both wearing Vuitton, one of the Games’ prominent sponsors — lead arrivals, alongside Ariana Grande, who wore a Glinda-pink, Thom Browne princess gown with Swarovski jewels, and Cynthia Erivo, in an Elphaba-emerald green Vuitton dress; the pair continue their method-dressing promotion of Wicked, which comes in November. Also there was Serena Williams, in a tomato red Dolce & Gabbana dress, Emma Chamberlain, in archive Ralph Lauren pedal pushers and bar jacket, and Kaia Gerber, who wore a steel-grey mini dress by French designer Marine Serre.
Stars took to cheering their fellow countrymen in the days that followed. On July 27, Sir Mick Jagger lent into Succession-style with a navy cap and non-branded grey hoodie — not a disimilar outfit to the cap, white shirt and blazer Nicole Kidman opted for to watch the Women's Street Final Skateboarding with husband, Keith Urban, and their two daughters the next day.
Sunday’s Artistic Gymnastics Women's Qualification, which saw the United States’ Simone Biles amaze the crowd, pulled in the Hollywood heavy-weights. Tom Cruise, in a bright white polo, waved to crowds, while Jessica Chastain wore a Ralph Lauren knit brandishing the Stars and Stripes flag. Also there was Anna Wintour with Baz Luhrmann, and Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo in — bien sûr! — yet more pink and green.
As for royal sightings, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Princess Charlene of Monaco made an appearance at the Opening Ceremony while the King and Queen of the Netherlands were seen, sporting Just Stop Oil-hue orange, as they hollered during the women's preliminary round volleyball match, on July 29. But it was Princess Anne who took gold, proving her style credentials at the medal ceremony for the Eventing Team Final, pairing beige slacks and boat shoes with a boxy navy blazer, white button down and her famous, statement cycling shades.
The Artistic Gymnastics Women's Team Final, which was dominated by Team USA, on July 30 drew in yet more Stateside stars. Natalie Portman, in a mustard skirt suit, joined Nicole Kidman, Serena Williams, Spike Lee and Bill Gates to watch on. Elsewhere, newlyweds Anant and Radhika Ambani (the latter was unmissable in a tangerine, Versace number) paid a visit to the India House at the Games.

As is tradition, the medal table is ordered by the number of golds achieved by each team. If any countries tie on the medal table, bronze and silver medals are then taken into account.
