SINGAPORE — In Part 3 of our series of interviews with prospective GE2020 candidates, I spoke with Kumaran Pillai of the Progress Singapore Party (PSP).

He’s a new face on the political scene and will be running in the Kebun Baru single-member constituency. We spoke about his departure from the world of journalism to enter politics, the issues affecting Kebun Baru residents and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected Singapore’s start-up sector.

This interview was recorded on 4 July.
