Mix-tapes, 1471 and love letters: The 'most missed' nostalgic tasks overtaken by technology
Making mix tapes, printing photographs and sending love letters are among a list of once-everyday tasks that have been replaced by technology.
A poll of 2,000 adults commissioned by British Airways found the tasks we miss doing since they have been replaced by things like smartphones and wifi.
The list includes carrying a portable CD player, owning an encyclopaedia and being able to remember people’s phone numbers.
But there are some things people don’t miss – like queuing in a post office to buy their car tax or having to check TV listings to see what they can watch.
Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ director of brand and customer experience, said: “Technology and the internet has evolved so much in recent years that tasks we once considered to be regular parts of our day are now done for us online.
“The results show us how dependant we have become on the internet and being connected at all times – even while travelling.”
