Once Upon a Time shuts down another major fan theory

There's a lot we still don't know about the 'rebooted' seventh season of Once Upon a Time.

With a huge cast shake-up, a time jump, and a move away from Storybrooke, so much is up in the air, making the wait for the premiere all the more difficult.

For starters, is Lucy (Alison Fernandez) more than just Henry's daughter?

The showrunners have already seemingly dismissed a theory that Lucy's mother is Disney's Moana.

But there's another suggestion going around that Lucy's name is no coincidence – and that she may be based on Lucy Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia.

(Lucy was played by Georgie Henley in the movies – 2005's The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, 2008's Prince Caspian, and 2010's The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.)

One Once Upon a Time fan pitched the theory to TVLine, which got to the bottom of it by asking the show bosses if there was any truth to it at all.

The response? Well...

"Matt Mitovich asked the Once creators if there is anything to be gleaned from the naming of Henry's daughter, and they came back with a decisive 'no'," TVLine shared.

Seems to be a dead end, then.

What we do know is that Emma, Snow, Charming, young Henry, Belle, and Zelena won't be returning in a regular capacity (although Jennifer Morrison did confirm she would be back for one episode), while adult Henry is played by Andrew J West, having made his debut alongside Lucy actress Alison Fernandez in the season six finale.

ABC has released snippets about how the show will work with only Regina, Mr Gold, and Hook as returning regular characters – and it sounds like there will be new characters, a new curse, and perhaps new identities...
