Humber Street Sesh 2024 has announced its headline act - a local band that NME described as "one of Britain's best-kept musical secrets" last year.

Shoegaze Hull band bdrmm will be this year's Main Stage headline act. The band has been on a lot of people's radars since their 2020 debut album, Bedroom , which NME gave 5 stars. The Guardian said that the album was "one of the underground hits of lockdown."

Having started off in the simplest of beginnings having first performed at The Adelphi, the band will now come full circle on the Hull circuit by playing the city's biggest music festival.

The band consists of brothers Ryan and Jordan Smith, with best pals Joe Vickers and Connor Murray. Their 2023 second album I Don't Know was also critically acclaimed, and they recently joined Mogwai on a UK and European tour.

The Humber Street Sesh celebrated 10 years on Hull Marina last year - celebrating over 100 different acts and giving emerging local talent an opportunity to play to a crowd in what some consider the biggest event in Hull. Earlier this year, the organisers said that they plan to widen the artistic programme for this year's event - including a return of the Rock Stage and a new Dance Stage for local DJs.

Festival Artistic Director, Mark Page said, “We are absolutely over the moon that bdrmm are our Main Stage headline act this year. They’ve rightly gained the attention and respect of the UK independent music scene and we’re honoured to have them. They have a huge following in their hometown, and they’ll be an amazing headline act on the Main Stage this year.”

This year's Humber Street Sesh will be held at Hull Marina on Saturday, August 3 from Midday - 11 pm. Tickets are on sale and can be found here.
