One Camel Killed, One Rescued After Circus Vehicle Crash in Siberia

One camel was killed and a second rescued after a crash in the Ust-Ilimsky District of Siberia, the Russian Ministry of the Interior said on the morning of December 6.

A touring circus truck carrying two camels lost control and drove into a ditch, toppling the vehicle over onto a snowy road bank, killing one of the camels inside.

Emergency services arrived to find that the second camel, called Slavik, was uninjured. It was brought to the nearest village and put into a fire station’s outbuilding, where amazed local children visited the animal.

The operation took eight hours to complete, the Russian Ministry of the Interior said. Credit: Ministry of the Interior via Storyful
