One Direction Splash Cash On Prime Time TV Advert To Thank Their Fans
Last month, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles took to their Twitter pages to thank the dedicated One Direction fans who clubbed together to take out an A4 advert in Billboard magazine that congratulated the boys on the release of their fifth studio album, Made In The AM, and reassured them that we’ll all still be here after their well-deserved 2016 break.
Now, the boys have gone all out to return the favour, splashing out on a prime time slot in one of last night’s X Factor breaks to poignantly thank the fans for their support over the last five years.
Simply showing ripped up paper with handwritten lyrics scrawled on them, the boys’ track ‘History’ plays in the background as the camera focuses on the line: ‘You and me gotta whole lotta history’ before the screen goes white and ‘Thank You, Love Louis, Liam, Niall and Harry .x” flashes up.
A simple yet more-than-effective tribute to their fans across the globe.
Needless to say, after the heartfelt note aired it didn’t take long for Twitter to erupt into one big mass of emotion, as 1D’s legions of followers expressed how touched they were by the message:
THE BOYS PAID FOR AN ADVERT JUST TO SAY THANK YOU TO US WHEN U KNOW U HAVE THE BEST IDOLS #MTVStars One Direction

If you follow the boys or have ever been to a One Direction concert, then you’ll know that not a single member of the biggest boyband on the planet takes their fame for granted.
And now this touching tribute to the people that they owe their careers to acts as further evidence that One Direction have most certainly not forgotten where they came from.
