One Direction’s Liam Payne To Have Solo Career ‘Managed By David Beckham’s Team’

Liam Payne is set to have his solo career during One Direction’s hiatus managed by the team behind David Beckham’s success, according to reports.

This comes after Liam revealed last week that he’s signed to Capitol Records as a solo artist.

It looks like we could be in for some exciting times (but don’t worry, we’re still ready and waiting and excited for when the boys get back together, of course).

Reports claim that Liam has signed with Doyen Global, giving managing director (and David’s PR, adviser and close friend) Simon Oliveira his first venture into the musical world.

The company currently specialises in sports and films.

Speaking about Liam’s new deal, a source told The Sun: “Liam has made a bold move going solo so why not go for management of the highest calibre.

“He also already has a huge profile so the scope to increase his brand further is obvious. Being one half of one of the most recognisable couples in Britain obvious helps.”

It’s thought that girlfriend Cheryl was the driving force behind his decision for a solo career, with the source adding: “Liam probably enjoyed the limelight the least after Zayn Malik in One Direction.

“He enjoyed the recording and creative process, so that was the way he was heading.

“But being with Cheryl has given him the drive to break through himself. He knows she will be his unofficial mentor too.”

We’re excited to see and hear the results of all the boys’ solo efforts!
