The amount of money raised by Ariana Grande's huge One Love Manchester charity concert has been revealed, and it's an amazing sum.

The star-studded event was organised by Ariana and her team to pay tribute to, and raise money for, the families and victims of the tragic May 22 terror attack in Manchester, which killed 22 people.

Featuring emotional performances from the likes of Ariana herself, Liam Gallagher, Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus, One Love Manchester was an inspiring act of defiance.

Councillor Sue Murphy revealed the final total raised to be $24.5 million (£18m), and explained how the money will be distributed.

"Thanks to this we have raised more than £18m and we were conscious that we had to get some of swiftly this to those with immediate needs," she said in a statement (via NME).

"We have therefore given around a third of the total to the bereaved families and £3.5m to those who were hospitalised after the attack."

Explaining that "over half" of the existing funds have already been allocated, Murphy added that the process of deciding where to allocate the remaining money will be "complex".

"This will be a complex and sensitive process as we will need to assess the long-term impacts of the attack. We will issue an update as soon as we know more," she wrote.

As well as drawing in a lot of generous donations, One Love Manchester drew in a lot of viewers, becoming the most-watched TV event of 2017 and breaking BBC iPlayer records.
