The One Show host Alex Jones has admitted that she initially didn't realise she was pregnant with her third child.
The presenter, who announced in March that she is expecting a baby girl, revealed that she initially dismissed the symptoms as side effects of switching to a vegan diet.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Alex said: "I just felt really tired but, of course, in hindsight I was pregnant. I thought it was the veganism making me drained of energy but it wasn't.
"This is ridiculous in a third pregnancy, but I didn't realise the clues were there because I honestly blamed everything on the veganism. I was so tired and hungry all the time and I thought it was that."
Alex then had to break the news to her husband, Charlie Thomson, adding: "I said to my husband that I think we need to do a test. And he said, 'What? What?'"
The pair already have two sons: 4-year-old Teddy and Kit, who is 2 years old.
"It was a funny thing because we hadn't necessarily planned on a third," Alex added. "We were so grateful to have the two boys and we just thought, 'There you are'.
"So, it was a huge surprise. And when we also realised that it was a girl, we were just ecstatic. Because I don't know, it wasn't something that we ever expected, but actually three feels great and nice."
She went on to admit that having three small children will be "hellish at times" and "quite demanding", but added that they feel "super lucky" to become parents again.
The 44-year-old was also asked about the possibility of any more children later on but quickly dismissed the idea, saying: "It wouldn't be for me because we are now officially done!"
Alex announced her latest pregnancy live on The One Show, which came not only as a surprise to viewers but also to some crew members in the studio.
The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
