The One Show's Alex Jones reveals how she was sacked from TV job on UK return
The One Show host Alex Jones has opened up about her early TV career and how she got sacked after returning from an exotic location. Alex revealed all in conversation with Rylan Clark about the pitfalls of TV presenting.
Welsh woman Alex revealed the disastrous incident from her early presenting days on the dating show, La Bamba. The Welsh series involved young contestants participating in games and going on dates in the sun, with the winning couple earning a trip to an exotic location, reports the Express.
However, Alex told Rylan that she was promptly "fired" from her role upon returning to Wales from filming. Speaking on Air Rylan, she said: "I used to host a dating show on a beach and the winning couple won a trip to Cancun. I said to my friend, who was a contestant, 'try and win and then I'll see if they will let me come to film you and the bloke'.

"So my friend Kat won, I'm hosting the show, and she was going to go to Cancun with Stuart, this bloke. The three of us went to Cancun but we didn't see Stuart. So me and Kat got a brilliant holiday."
However, things took a turn for the worse when Alex admitted "I forgot to film anything." She said: "I was fired from that job when I got back."
Despite this setback, Alex has had a successful television career, presenting The One Show since 2010. She has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing (2011), hosted Tumble (2014), presented her own documentary Fertility and Me (2016) and co-hosted Shop Well For Less from 2016 until 2018.
