The One Show has seen a number of guest presenters this year following the departure of Matt Baker.

Stepping in to co-host the show alongside Alex Jones has been singer Ronan Keating, McFly drummer Harry Judd and former footballer Jermaine Jenas.

Alex said that she's still in touch with Matt after he left the show in April 2020.

"He's really happy as well, doing his own thing," she told OK!.

"It's been an odd year, obviously. No one could have predicted [the pandemic] was going to happen, so I think he hasn't been able to get on with as many projects as he was hoping to."

Speaking of her various co-hosts, Alex added: "What I've loved is that they've all brought their own kinds of flavour to the show.

"Ronan, he's lovely. He's brilliant. You know, we have children the same age, so we have a lot in common. And Jermaine Jenas is such a nice guy.

"It's been great in lockdown to have that change.

"Our viewers have been very loyal. It's lovely that we've been a sort of constant for them, but having that variety has helped to keep things fresh as well."

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Alex started presenting the show in 2010, and said she still loves it as much as when she started.

"It's been my favourite year of the show, which may seem like a very strange thing to say," she continued.

"But there's a feeling of a team really coming together when emergencies like the pandemic strike."

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
