Love Actually is packed full of famous faces, from Liam Neeson and Andrew Lincoln to Alan Rickman and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

But one cameo you'd be forgiven for missing was one by The One Show presenter and Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two star Gethin Jones.

While chatting on The One Show today (October 20) with Love Actually star Thomas Brodie-Sangster, who played adorable young drummer Sam in the 2003 romantic comedy, Gethin revealed that he made a surprise appearance in the movie – or rather, his name did.

Joking that "the role I played" was a "hugely important" part of the film, Gethin revealed a still image from the final scene of the movie, which sees several characters reunite at Heathrow Airport.

In the picture, Martine McCutcheon's character Natalie can be seen waving, while two drivers stand in front of her holding signs bearing the names of the people they're picking up – and the name on one of those boards is 'G Jones'.

"My best friend Ollie was an art director on the film and obviously they needed a name for the board, so crucial!" he said. "There's Martine in the background, she's not so important in this part of the film but the 'G Jones' is."

But his co-host Alex Jones was rather doubtful about Gethin's claims, saying: "Honestly, he tells that story to everybody and it's literally... 'G Jones' could be anybody, couldn't it?"

Gethin added: "It's disappointing they didn't go with Gethin."

Gethin recently had to clarify that he has not got married, after he posted a photo of a ring on Instagram and wrote: "It's been a big day."

The presenter revealed that he had in fact simply been "filming a Christmas advert for [jewellers] Clogau".

The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
