The One Show presenter Matt Baker has given us yet more proof that he's TV gold.

Whether he's channeling his inner-Alan Partridge with unintentionally rude questions, prematurely announcing the death of a celebrity guest's mum or making the nation swoon with his facial fuzz, there's never a dull moment.

Wednesday's (April 17) One Show got off to another bizarre start, when Matt and co-presenter Alex Jones's intro outside the BBC studio was interrupted by a dodgeball sailing into frame to whack Matt on the nose!

"Whoah! I got it in the face," Matt grimaced.

Just a reminder that he was talking about a dodgeball for any of you with your minds in the gutter! In any event, it was momentary hysteria on The One Show as Alex burst out laughing while Matt tried gathering himself.

"I actually thought I'd broke me nose there for a second," he admitted.

The presenters then explained that the facial hazard was down to having members of the Team GB dodgeball practising outside The One Show ahead of their first tournament this weekend.

Turning to the dodgeball squad, Matt asked: "Who got me?! Was it you?!"

Later, Ninja Warrior UK presenters Rochelle Humes and Chris Kamara joined in for a demo with the Team GB dodgeball team and, this time, Matt got away without any whacks to the head!

Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs Michael Gove was also on hand to speak about the "scourge of plastic" during Wednesday's One Show, but he surprisingly had nothing to say about the "scourge of dodgeball".

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays at 7pm on BBC One.
