‘One-stop shop’ for all the beauty treatments you could need opens in Hull
A new hair and beauty business in Hull’s Avenues area is offering a huge range of treatments to help people be the best versions of themselves without having to travel.
Hull born and bred Kyra Cowlam has taken on The Cosmetic Lounge, at 79 Princes Avenue. She said the intention was to be a “one-stop shop” for every beauty requirement.
Kyra, a trained aesthetics specialist who also provides facials and waxing, is currently one of a team of seven staff at the salon, but she is looking to expand that. She said: “We offer a whole range of services.

“We want it to be a one-stop shop for everyone, where they can have everything done in one day without having to travel here, there and everywhere for multiple treatments. The main thing we want as soon as people come through the door is for them to feel welcome and to relax.”
Kyra took over the business about four weeks ago. She is planning a special celebratory launch event, on Saturday, December 7, from 6pm until about 8pm.
“We want to get The Cosmetic Lounge name out there, to interest new customers and show them what we are all about. On that evening, people will be able to see demonstrations of some of the treatments we offer, there will be freebies and a glass of prosecco, and everyone who comes along will get a goody bag.
“There will be entertainment as well and discounts available. It’s an opportunity for people to see where we are and what we do – and hopefully make some appointments with us.
“It will also be a chance for anyone do so some Christmas shopping, for products or gift vouchers." Kyra said: “Because we are quite a big salon we are looking at hiring more people – we are hoping that on the launch night there may be those looking for a new chapter in their lives who pop in and might want to work with us.”
Kyra’s plans include opening the first aesthetics wholesale in Hull and developing a training academy for various courses. She said: “I definitely want this to be the best salon possible; we want anyone, regardless of age or gender, to enjoy their experience with us.”
