How One Visual Artist Brought The World To A Group Of Alula's Artisans

During the Evening Standard's week-long trip to AlUla, we were lucky enough to witness a workshop collaboration between the artisans of the Madrasat AdDeera - AlUla's art and design centre - and Catalina Swinburn, a Chilean visual artist.Swinburn's work uses paper weaving to comment on women's work, worth and resilience. For the AlUla workshop she chose vintage atlases to reflect AlUla's status as "on the map" for tourists. To find out more about how AlUla is becoming a must-see destination for tourists, and a thriving arts and culture hub, visit https://www.standard.co.uk/optimist/cultural-oasis
