Only Fools and Horses star Gwyneth Strong is unrecognisable in fiery EastEnders role
Only Fools and Horses icon Gwyneth Strong is famed for portraying Casandra Trotter in the legendary sitcom, which aired on BBC One between 1981 and 2023. But Gwyneth has also starred in EastEnders playing a very different character who locked horns with landlady Linda Carter (played by Kellie Bright) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
The 64-year-old debuted on Only Fools in 1989 as the intelligent, sensible, and 'yuppie' love interest of dodgy dealer Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst). The pair met at evening school and despite being from very different backgrounds, their romance went the distance.
Cassandra and Rodney got married in the Little Problems episode, officially making her the suffering sister-in-law to Del Boy (David Jason). Although, she was a complete daddy's girl after being spoiled by her dad, Alan Parry (Denis Lill), which made her a classy addition to the Trotters who lived in a Peckham high-rise, and sold hooky goods.

In later years, Rodney and Cassandra went on to have a baby daughter called Joan as seen in the very last episode of the BBC sitcom that aired in 2003.
Since her time on the BBC sitcom, Gwyneth has racked up a long list of television credits during her acting career including roles in Casualty, Midsomer Murders, New Tricks, Doctors, and many more.
However, in September 2016 the TV star landed a part in BBC One soap EastEnders. Gwyneth rocked up to Albert Square as Geraldine Clough, the leader of a female darts team from The Feathers pub.
After calling The Queen Vic "tacky", Geraldine flounced into the gaff for some serious dart playing.
But drama ensued when she cheated in a darts tournament against her nemesis Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) and her pub tribe before making an abrupt exit. But within two month, Geraldine returned to Walford for a showdown with another icon.
This time she was tasked with organising the Walford Players Christmas Show - and Abi Branning (Lorna Fitzgerald) and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) pay her a visit.
However, after a surprise bust-up, feisty Geraldine kicked Kathy out of the building which showed her no-nonsense attitude miles away from the classic comedy we're so used to her playing.
Geraldine stayed in and around Walford for two months with her last appearance on November 29, 2016. Most recently, Gwyneth played Mrs Boyle in the 70th-anniversary production of Agatha Christie's Mousetrap.
