Well, there's a perplexing calculation currently making waves online that has left many scratching their heads. It's widely acknowledged that keeping your brain active can boost cognitive function, sharpen memory, and enhance concentration and focus. Some experts even suggest that regular mental exercise could postpone the onset of dementia symptoms.

Brainteasers are diverse in nature, but this particular conundrum is so tricky that it's said only those with superior IQ levels can crack it. While it will certainly push your grey cells to think creatively, tackling such challenges can boost your brain's ability to concentrate, as well as improve memory and overall cognitive function.

One question from a test is causing quite a stir, baffling not just those who find mathematics challenging but also those who consider themselves numerically adept. The question appears straightforward at first glance, asking participants to solve an equation yet the solution is anything but simple.

The problem has left many people torn between two potential answers, with a majority unable to settle on a definitive solution. So, do you reckon you have what it takes to figure it out?

The viral maths question, which was initially shared on Instagram's Threads, goes as follows: "3x3-33+3". Since its posting, it has garnered hundreds of comments from individuals attempting to decipher it.

The math conundrum may initially lead you to follow the sequence in which it is given. So, you might multiply three by three to get nine, then minus three for a sum of six. Following this logic, divide six by three to equal two and then add three, equating to five as the result.

This is the answer many people arrived at but unfortunately, it's not correct. In mathematics, there is a process called BIDMAS, or BODMAS (PEMDAS if you're in America). BIDMAS is an acronym used to tell you the correct order to complete an equation when there are different operations. It stands for Brackets, Indices, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.

While many people came up with five, others used their brain power to explain the sequence and determine the correct answer. One user explained: "To solve the mathematical equation correctly, we use the order of operations (PEMDAS/BODMAS: Parentheses/Brackets, Exponents/Orders, Multiplication and Division (from left to right), Addition and Subtraction (from left to right)). Here are the steps: 1. Perform multiplication and division first: 3 x 3 = 9 and 3 / 3 = 1

"2. Substitute the results back into the equation: 9 - 1 + 3, 3. Perform addition and subtraction in sequence: 9 - 1 = 8, 8 + 3 = 11. So, the solution is= 11"
