'Only in Liverpool' warning to drivers near school
Road markings in Liverpool have been labelled as "scouse" as they tell drivers to go "dead slow."
The amusing road signs were brought to light by driving instructor Danny Smith, who runs Danny's Driving School, covering Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens. Danny has a popular Instagram channel in which he posts clips of driving lessons and offers tips and guidance for those hoping to learn to drive.
On one video, Danny and his student can be seen making their way along North Drive in West Derby, outside St Edward's College. They notice road markings on the ground, which read: "Dead slow."

In the clip, Danny and his driving student remark on how the signs appear to imitate Scouse slang. Scousers regularly use the word 'dead' to mean 'really.'
In the video, Danny can be heard saying: "Go dead slow la. It's like a scouse road marking. I always say that on lessons, go dead slow."
Responding to the video on Danny's Instagram page, Nick said: "That's the second one I've seen and only in Liverpool."
Having seen the video, we sent our ECHO photographer out to West Derby to get some photographs of the 'scouse road markings' in all their glory.
