Oops! EastEnders got the date wrong again last week

We get that soaps can be really hard to make due to their insanely fast turnaround, and it's incredible how slick everything comes together.

Having said that... when eagle eyed viewers notice that an error has managed to sneak through the cracks, we do like to have a chuckle.

The latest goof is another date-related one, as during last night's episode Louise Mitchell's phone displayed the date as February 17, rather than March 17.

Normally, we'd go 'oopsy daisy' and move on (after maybe writing an article about it, of course) but this gaffe was especially silly because March 17 is St Patrick's Day - something that is celebrated within the episode itself.

But let's give the production team the benefit of the doubt for a second, and say it was intentional.

Maybe there was an unaired scene where Louise accidentally dropped her phone and although it magically didn't shatter the screen, she had to do a factory reset and put the date in wrong.

Perhaps Madison actually did send the text back in February but she didn't have signal and her phone couldn't decide whether to send it via iMessage or SMS so decided to do neither for exactly a month.

Or it's us lot who are wrong and we're all actually still in February and 2017 has just felt like three months have passed when, really, it's been two months but they've just dragged.

In any case, EastEnders viewers are always great at spotting some onscreen phone-related drama, be it giving different characters the same phone number or Sharon Mitchell making a phone call using her Notes app.

We've all been there.

We can also expect more phone-related twists in the next few episodes, but this time they're intentional as a mystery man gives Lauren Branning his number - is she going to cheat on Steven?

EastEnders airs on BBC One.
