Opening date for new Burger King restaurant confirmed
A new Burger King restaurant is preparing to open near Speke's New Mersey Shopping Park. The area already boasts a range of fast-food companies including Five Guys and McDonald's.
Burger King moves into the building which once housed The Chinese Buffet and, before that, Damon's Restaurant. An opening date has been set for Monday, November 18.
The ECHO previously reported that The Chinese Buffet closed in January 2023 after opening in 2018. TCB offered a unique service following the pandemic as robots were used to deliver dishes to customers ordered via a bespoke app.
Before the Chinese Buffet took over, many people in Liverpool will have fond memories of the former Damon's which first opened back in 1992. Damon's was known for its trademark ribs and for giving Scousers free meals on their birthday. Damon's had branches in the US and elsewhere in the UK, after beginning life in 1979 when its founder, Mr. Irv Rossman, opened the first restaurant in East Columbus.

Restaurant manager Elle said: “We’re so excited to be opening the doors to our brand-new restaurant, and we can’t wait to introduce ourselves to the local community with a 1000 burger giveaway. Be sure to get down nice and early to secure yours, as it’s first come first served."
